the VINES

Cabernet Sauvignon is the most widespread red grape variety in the world whose powerful tannic structure can give life to extremely complex and long-lived wines.

Cabernet Franc, less late than Cabernet Sauvignon, is perfect to complete the aromatic profile of the latter.

Petit Verdot is a black grape variety originating from the Médoc area in France, due to its rebellious nature it is rarely vinified alone.

With little cultivation in the world, it is a vine that expresses its best in Italy, especially in Lazio and Maremma,
with a late ripening it is capable of producing tannic, concentrated and colored wines.

    POGGIO COLOMBI  DOC 2021 - Tasting Date February 10th, 2024 - Rating: 90/100 Excellent!
"The nose is savory, earthy and slightly tangy, with aromas of pepper, pencil shavings, soil and tart blackberries. The blackberry and pepper notes intensify on the palate, although a cooling grassiness provides balance, even in the face of dense tannins and punchy acid." – by Danielle Callegari

"Plush, insouciantly charming, milk-chocolate-fondu-dipped berry fruit. Way too easy to drink, like pretty much all the Pepi Lignana wines. There is a whisper of spice and a nicker of black-olive tapenade in the super-lithesome tannins bringing a pause of seriousness to the finish."
