"Best UK Sommelier", “Villa Sandi Award” and the “Walkaround Tasting”
On 12 June 2023 we were present with our "Pepi Lignana" labels in the Merchant Taylors' Hall in London, a historic fourteenth-century building in the heart of the City, where an important triple event was held by the UK Sommelier Association: the "Best UK Sommelier”, the “Villa Sandi Award” and the “Walkaround Tasting”.
The event aimed to celebrate the art and skill of sommeliers and the diverse and rich world of wines, to showcase the talents of some of the UK's best and most experienced sommeliers and to give attendees the opportunity to sample a variety of selected wines from all over the world.
Our wines have received widespread approval and appreciation from industry experts and insiders, making us extremely proud of our cellar.

The Competition
The competition featured three semi-finalists on stage, battling for the title.
The sommeliers faced a series of rigorous challenges that tested their wine knowledge, their food tasting and pairing skills, their elegance of service, and their communication skills.
The judges scrutinized every detail, keeping a close eye on the professionalism of each contestant.
Seminars and Masterclasses
During the event, guests had the opportunity to participate in masterclasses and seminars led by wine personalities. The lectures were an excellent opportunity to learn from the experts and deepen your knowledge and understanding of the different wine areas and grape varieties presented.
The 'UK Bartender Guild' With its participation, they showcased their talents in creating unique cocktails and offering educational workshops and demonstrations of skills.
The 'Best UK Sommelier', 'Villa Sandi Award' and 'Tasting Walkaround' were a fantastic experience for all attendees and a unique networking opportunity for the wine trade as well as the premier annual social gathering for the hospitality sector.
