The rules of Blind Battle
- For the Type of wine, the entries allowed were: "sparkling, spumante, white, rosé, maceration from white grapes, carbonic maceration, red, sweet wine, fortified, film-forming maturation".
- There were no particular indications for the vintage.
- The Aging was indicated "in steel or in wood", with specification on the wood "Grande" or "Barrique" for + 1 pt.
- On the blends, the entries allowed were "single variety (from 80% upwards) or cut (from 79% downwards)". For "single-varietal blends" + 2 pts were assigned if the grape variety was recognized, and +1 pt for each of the two grape varieties guessed "of blended blends".
- The Region of origin was also required, chosen exclusively within Italy.
- Finally the Producer who sent home +5 pt..
After the thrilling battle, the Lignana family welcomes its guests to the final dinner of the event by proposing a menu of Maremma cuisine paired with the company's wines. Following the awarding of the winning team and lots of hilarious laughter combined with intriguing speeches about wines!
The Vermentino Team led by the great Luca Grippo won this battle to the last glass together with Denise Oriani, Davide Gilioli, Chiara Dionisio, Simone Costagli and Letizia Porcini.
Compliments also go to Team Cabarnet led by Carlotta Salvini whose score achieved was slightly lower than the winning team's score, so many congratulations also to this fabulous team made up of Annamaria Corrù, Filippo Tallia, Alberto Mameri, Augusta Boes and Stefano Franzoni.
