Luca Maroni “the Best Italian Wines”

The evaluations of our wines by Luca Maroni have arrived in the company, evaluations that will be included in the 2023 Guide of  "the Best Italian Wines".
It is always an honor to receive the evaluations of Luca Maroni, a true sensory analyst of international fame who through his tastings celebrates the senses of smell, taste, touch, sight and hearing. And it is precisely through these expressed senses that Luca Maroni leads us to discover the scents of the earth and the scents of the vineyard that wine expresses.
We are satisfied for having obtained a very good score and even more so because all the wines tasted have been widely appreciated.
We thank everyone for the result and for the excellent collaboration!

Luca Maroni's comment on the production of our Winery
"Leopoldino Vermentino Maremma Toscana Doc 2021 presented by Pepi Lignana - Fattoria Il Casalone stands out for the fragrant, floral cleanliness of its varietal aromas.
A glass of perceived value, with the Alizée 2021 rosé of excellent softness on the palate, and with Il Cucchetto Cabernet Sauvignon Doc Maremma Toscana 2019 of great fleshiness and uncommon strength. The Pitorsino Viognier Igt 2020 is a great wine, one of the roundest, sunniest whites of Tuscany, powerful in their balanced and clear spiciness. Finally, among the best Italian reds, Don José Cabernet Franc Doc Maremma Toscana 2020 is confirmed: maximum its density, great soft-tannic palatal souplesse, inviolate, stainless and still chlorophyll, its wonderful first fruit. Chapeau."

Maroni's Evaluation Method
A free, immediate and fascinating sensory journey into wine.
The key concepts underlying the tasting methodology conceived by Luca Maroni are the Consistency (C), the Balance (E) and the Integrity (I) of the wines.
Consistency is the expressive volume of the wine, determined by its richness, and concerns the persistence and potential longevity of the wine. Balance is the harmony between the components, such that the taste of the wine is smooth on the palate and the relationship between acid and bitterness is harmonious. Integrity is the absence in the taste-aroma of wine of oenological transformation defects (sulphurous, acetous, milky, vanished, woody) and oxidation. The quality, purity and fragrance of the wine components therefore express the technical caliber and potential longevity of the wine.
The more consistent, balanced and intact is the taste of the wine in question, the more pleasant its taste-aroma, the higher its organoleptic quality. Smell, sight, hearing, touch and taste thus become five different immediate interpretations: by relying on the senses, one arrives at the discovery of good wine.
